I was born in Arkansas and raised in Oregon by two intelligent, hard-working, blue-collar parents who instilled in me the belief that honesty and hard work are their own reward.  I recently quit my full-time job analyzing data for a transportation agency to pursue a dream, with my husband, of owning a bison ranch.  We've been in Missouri since September, taking the first steps toward our new vocation.

I joined HubPages to explore my desire to write. Currently, I am committed to describing the memories and experiences of one who risked his life for his country, both in and out of war, in the series, "Memories of Vietnam."  The series will eventually move beyond Vietnam, and will include personal stories set in places around the world.

I also have an interest in health and food, which is reflected in my other writing.

I have had the privilege of guiding and knowing my two high-functioning autistic boys, both of whom will join us in raising bison.  I am married to a smart, creative, and playful guy who constantly encourages me and challenges me to do and be my best.

In the short time I have been here at HubPages, I have met some fascinating people, learned a lot about a multitude of subjects, and been inspired by some great hubbers.
