Organic, Fair Trade Chocolate -- Buy it Online
The Social Benefits of Fair Trade
A fair price
The Fair Trade Certified label guarantees that farmers and workers
received a fair price for their product. The Fair Trade price means
that farmers can feed their families and that their children can go to
school instead of working in the fields.
Quality products
By receiving a fair price, Fair Trade producers can avoid
cost-cutting practices that sacrifice quality. The Fair Trade producers'
traditional artesanal farming methods result in exceptional products.
Care for the environment
Most Fair Trade Certified coffee, tea and chocolate in the US is
certified organic and shade grown. This means that the products you buy
maintain biodiversity, provide shelter for migratory birds and help
reduce global warming.

Thanks, carolina. I appreciate you reading and commenting!
A great resource and really timely after I wrote on the benefits of chocolate flavanols - any excuse to be healthy and organic :)
Yes, I saw your outstanding hub on chocolate. As a silly aside, when I wrote this hub I was pressed for time and settled on a photo of chocolate that I really don't like, and when I saw the photo on your hub it reminded me that I need to fix that! Yours is so much more scrumptious! lol
Thanks for stopping by!
My wife and I each eat one three-quarter inch square of dark chocolate every day. We are able to buy fair trade chocolate at our supermarket and although it is pricey, we eat so little it doesn't come to much overall.
Hey Pretty, as all things chocolate draw me in like a moth to a flame, I had to read your well written hub. Do you happen to know if Trader Joe's or Whole Foods have fair trade chocolate?
Winsome, we don't have a Trader Joe's in my town so I don't get to go there often, but I would be surprised if they didn't carry it. I don't know about Whole Foods. Thank you for stopping by, and doesn't everybody love chocolate? :-)
PC, we have two teenage boys, so if we have chocolate around we have to guard it or it will be gone before I've even had a chance to sniff it much less eat it! lol We're still working on the concept of moderation...
Moderation can be tough with chocolate. Many a day I cheat and have two - don't tell my wife!
Cool - only wish I could EAT it. I have to live vicariously through others and bake it and buy it for them. Looks so good I can almost smell it!
Thanks for visiting my hub and welcome to Hubpages!
